IVER SAYS:

BRING ON THE KIDS!

Kids are welcome and encouraged!

Iver can’t wait to play with all his buddies! We’ll have our favorite nanny onsite with a friend (or two) to play with the kids during the day (12:30pm-7:30pm).

Bounce house confirmed. Bikes encouraged. Face paint activated.

There will be a fleet of babies, toddlers and real humans, so please don’t hold back on bringing the munchkins.

Kids are also welcome to participate in the Pixie Race! This is family friendly event, so we’ll work to make sure everyone is included (and a value add to your team!)

Accommodations

Squaw Valley is a resort town so there are a plethora of great ‘housing’ options. AirBnb, VRBO, booking.com, https://squawalpine.com/, are all great!

Squaw Valley is 2 miles tip-to-tail, so anywhere in the Valley will get you close to festivities!

AIRBNB, CONDOS & HOTEL OPTIONS

  • In the Village: Condos and individual rooms are available at Squaw Valley Village, Plumpjack, Olympic Valley Inn, etc. You’ll be within about a 10 minute walk of The Stables. Plumpjack has a great pool area.

  • Across the Meadow: Squaw Creek Resort: Squaw Creek has a fantastic pool area and spa. It is about a 15 minute walk across the meadow mostly on a path, or a 2 mile drive around the meadow. Shuttles do run from the resort to the village.

  • Greater NORTH LAKE TAHOE: Truckee, Tahoe City, and more all have great options in the greater NORTH LAKE Tahoe area. South Lake is about 1.5 hours away by car, so focus on NORTH LAKE or SQUAW VALLEY.

CampinG! RV’N!

Limited camping is available for tents // RVs on The Stables property!

This is self-contained, a gift from a hosts. Please let us know if you’re interested in bringing your camper and we’ll help with logistics.

Transportation

Driving

Squaw Valley is about 3 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area, 1.5 hours from Sacramento, and about 45 minutes from Reno.

Flying

Airport: RNO: Reno, Nevada.

Fly into Reno and you can rent a car, catch an Uber, or we can help set up Shuttle Service to Squaw Valley. You will likely not need a car for the weekend unless you’d like to explore the greater Tahoe area.

Getting around Squaw Valley:

Assume you’re going to walk or bike! Uber is pretty quiet around the valley, so assume feet and bikes (unless you’re driving). If you’re staying close to The Stables, you shouldn’t need a car.

Note, SANDY WAY and rental properties on or off SANDY are at the top of a big hill, so you might want a car for those accommodations.
(Don’t fear Sandy! Many fond memories have been created hiking the hill and finding hot tubs to poach along the way. Bud Light anyone?)

PIXIE: The Bike Rules

You’re encouraged to bring your own pixie bike to the extravaganza. Extra bikes will be provided.

- Bikes must have 16" wheels or smaller.

- The rear wheel must have a coaster brake hub(single speed)- with a fully functional coaster brake.

- Crank length can not be longer than 140mm (center to center).

- The drive train should be kept as close as possible to stock. It's the charm of the Pixie experience.

- Chainrings should be 36 tooth or smaller. If the stock chainring should exceed 36t (and that is rare) then a 2 to 1 ratio will be enforced. For example 38t front and 19t rear cog. This shouldn't really be an issue unless you are really trying to go nuts modifying the drive train.

- Any tires are fine; slicks, knobbies, no tires. It's your call.

- Any seat, stem, seat post, pedal and handlebar combination is legit! Also feel free to run additional brakes. Caliper, V/linear, disc, drum are all fine in addition to a coaster brake.

- Helmets will be required for the race, any helmet. Pads are encouraged, lots of pads!

- Bells, bling, and pixie accoutrement encouraged!

SEND IT!

LEGAL DISCLAIMER:
